With supported item weights ranging from 100 to 1500 grams, heat, and humidity in the aisles, a preliminary laboratory study is necessary to assess acceptable deformations (see results below to appreciate deformations between the 2 materials).
Depending on the weight of the item, cardboard, a robust, durable, and modifiable material, allows finding the compromise between:
- The shape (layout)
- The thickness
- The density (grammage)
- The price of the hanger

During design, IDS commits to designing a cardboard hanger as sturdy as its plastic counterpart. Laboratory tests allow us to find the compromise between the weight of the supported item, the grammage of the cardboard, the thickness of the cardboard, and the shape of the hanger.
Through a life cycle analysis of a plastic and cardboard hanger compared on 5 indicators (water, air, resources, oxidation, and climate change) conducted by an independent laboratory, it clearly appears that all criteria are in favor of cardboard.
The cardboard used comes from recycled, recyclable waste and is FSC certified.
A cardboard hanger allows for the suspension of items but also enables communication of information and transmission of images.
